Longing for F1 40 Years ago

It is sad to see that sports and entertainment have become so infested with commercialism that commercial success has become more important than originality, even as they expand on a global scale.

I can't erase my longing for F1 40 years ago. The reason is that each car was so unique that it could be distinguished by the shape of the car body, not the color of the car body or the advertising logo. Modern competition vehicles all look the same in F1, WRC, CART and NASCAR due to vehicle regulation pushed by excessive commercialism.

The era when anyone could participate in F1 with personal funds ended 40 to 50 years ago, and as the number of series competitions that took place around the world increased, the required funds increased, and after the road to spot participation was closed, TV broadcasting rights for the entire series were sold to cover the annual operating costs, and funds from global companies using F1 as a global advertising medium began to flow in. Then, the F1 world changed to a constitution that avoids consecutive battles and consecutive wins by a single team. Commercially, it is hoped that several teams will work hard and compete for the top, so it can be said that this is the result of the change to the "ideal state" as seen in other sports.

Personally, I'm hoping for the emergence of genius designers like Colin Chapman, the founder of Lotus, and Gordon Murray, the genius of the Brabham team. However, I don't really like the situation where a large number of development teams repeat small inventions and improvements in the area narrowed by vehicle regulation as in the present age.
Similarly, the global sports and entertainment industry, including the Olympics, has been so polluted with commercialism that the negative effects of constant demand for commercial success have demonstrated the free ingenuity and originality of individuals. It seems that the scenes are quite limited.
